What is CookBookKarma?

CookBookKarma is a gallery of blogger cookbook reviews and recently published cookbooks. CookBookKarma satisfies the curiosity of every cookbook lover with the latest cookbook information.

What is Chatter?

Chatter is a blogger post about a cookbook. Chatter can range from a complete cookbook review to mere details discovered while cooking (or eating!) a recipe from a cookbook. In either case, chatter includes a photo that appears in the blogger post, a link to the corresponding cookbook, and a link to the original blogger post.

What are the rules for Chatter submission?

Chatter submissions are performed via our Submit page.
Chatter submissions require a drool-worthy 250x250 pixel image that appears in the original post, a short description, the post url, and the title of the book the post references (yes that means the post must refer to the book).
We moderate all submissions to ensure quality images and posts.
Only one submission per blog post will be accepted.
You must credit all photos and content as appropriate. We take copyright seriously and will remove any violations. Let us know if you see a violation.

What are Favorites?

Favorites are a lists of Chatter and Books that you enjoy and want to go back to. You can save either Chatter or Books as a favorite by clicking on the purple plus sign in the Chatter or Book tile.
To view your favorite Books, click on "Favorites" under My Karma in the menu bar, or click here. Your favorite Books will be listed.
To view your favorite Chatter click on "Favorites" under My Karma in the menu bar then click on "Chatter" at the left under the main menu or click here.

What if I can't find the book I want to submit chatter for?

1. If the book was published in 2007 or later then make sure the book really isn't availabe.

Did you type the exact title without any abbreviations?

Does the book have a subtitle? Use a colon to denote the begining of the subitle. For example, "The Modern Baker: Time-Saving Techniques for Breads, Tarts, Pies, Cakes and Cookies".

2. We'll gladly add the book for your chatter submission. Simply click on "Request Book Addtion" and complete the book addition form. Be sure to provide the title, author and ISBN-10 to help us find the right book. After you've completed your chatter submission the book will be added.

Can I search for chatter?

Yes. You can search for a word or phrase of words within a chatter title or description. To do this simply:

1. Go to chatter searching by clicking on the search menu item under chatter.

2. Enter the phrase or words you are searching for. For example, to find all chatter than has the word breakfast in either the title or description enter breakfast in the search field.

3. Click on the 'search chatter' button.

Can I search for books by a specific author?

Yes. To view all books by a specific author simply:

1. Go to book searching by clicking on the search menu item under books.

2. Start typing the author's name. As you type a selection of matching authors names and books with the authors' name in them will appear.

3. Select the author you are searching for.

4. Click on view to see all of the books by that author.

Can I search for a specific book?

Yes. To for a specfic book simply:

1. Go to book searching by clicking on the search menu item under books.

2. Start typing the title of the book you are looking for. As you type a selection of matching titles will appear. For example, if you're looking for Fiesta at Rick's by Rick Bayless you simply start typing Fiesta. Once you've typed Fiesta the full book title will appear in the list.

3. Select the book title you want from the drop-down list. In our example, you'd click on Fiesta at Rick's.

4. Click view and you will be taken to that book.
